On June 23rd and 24th we gathered with around 20 people at Volkspark Friedrichshain, Berlin. We offered several stations to prepare ourselves and our senses to the arrival of the bats. In a somatic exercise we invited our guests to feel how many muscles in our body are working to make one movement; a theoretical introduction shared facts and knowledge on bats that we gathered during the process. In an open walk-by setting we explained the different apparatuses we built and used during the event to perceive the ultrasonic sounds of the bats.
As dusk started to slowly set over the city, we came together to sit and listen to the bats who found their home around the lake. Their dance over the lake was accompanied by choreography and a musical composition on our side, by a character whose life has been led in the surroundings of the lake, striving to build more and more and more apparatuses to adapt his senses to the ones the bats are using.
