© Annabel SteenI am a costume designer and theatre maker, currently based in Berlin. I am working mainly within performance art and object theatre as well as taking on commissions and collaborations throughout the broad field of costume.
I am an explorer of textures and textiles and understand costumes as a liberating moment and a possibility to give expression to hidden parts of the self;
currently i am learning to build animatronic and mechanic parts for costumes and wearables.
I connect with shared artistic practices that are not possessed and outcomes that can be used, touched, multiplied and distributed. I investigate these approaches sensually: via touching, hearing, feeling, smelling, ... thinking, crafting and chit-chatting about sci-fi, feel-fi and touch-fi.
